Twitter/X lost 20 million users to Bluesky last month, creating yet another hurdle for those of you who turn to Twitter as your primary Web3 research source. The platform was once considered the surefire resource for Web3 updates; now you must extend your search to other decentralized social media platforms to ensure you miss nothing.
This adds to the headache of verifying sources for reliability, weeding out spam or shills, and staying abreast of the latest advancements in blockchain use cases.
You’re probably exhausted, and we are too. Earlier this year we announced a new platform on the horizon designed specifically for Web3 research and invited you to join the Onchain Founding Membership. Now the first version is live.
The Web3 Insight Marketplace MVP is for you
The emperor got new clothes this month with our updated website and workflow, all designed to make it easier for you to reach the reports you need and navigate the brand new research hub. We’ve even redesigned the way our site search and categorization works so you can dive deep on what matters most to you — because who doesn’t hate dredging through a website in search of one small reference?
We’ve also miniaturized our research, making it way easier for you to grab-and-go. These mini-posts provide bite-sized content with big flavor so you know you’ve got the data integrity your project needs.
What’s more, early adopters can contribute findings to the research hub. Where Twitter provides very little in reward, our Web3 Insights Marketplace helps boost your reputation and will pay you back for your hard work. We don’t see X doing that any time soon.
For now, you can collect upvotes for your contributions. The sooner you start, the faster you grow your reputation. Also, show your appreciation for others by upvoting useful content.
That’s not all folks! What’s coming in 2025
Next year is going to be exciting. Each quarter you’ll receive more features in the Web3 Insights Marketplace that will make blockchain research better. Things like micro-tipping, collectibles, detailed researcher profiles, and more will all work together to build an open, honest, and most of all, effective Web3 research platform. Early members will be able to use their utility NFT and amplify their participation at every stage.
Imagine not getting a headache the next time you need information about a specific sector or use case. Right now, you probably conduct research by scraping the web, looking to Twitter and Farcaster, and hoping you find what you need.
Rather than go through all that, you’ll soon be able to query the researchers on our Marketplace for quality research that has been vetted by the Web3 community. Your vote, and the vote of every member, will ensure that the best quality research (and funding) is here.
Why are we doing this?
We had a vision. In late 2023 we had a problem: We couldn’t find the research that we needed to move forward with our own initiatives. Rather than fight it, we made it our problem. Entrepreneurs and strategists across the blockchain community struggle to find quality research every day. Trolling social media to ensure one is first in line for the latest trend or use case is not a good use of your time. Or ours.
So we founded Onchain to build a solution. The Web3 Insights Marketplace is the result of a team of Web3 enthusiasts like you asking how to make blockchain research better. Hold on to your hats — there is so much more to come in 2025.
With the launch of the reimagined website and research feed this month, the research revolution has begun. You can get access to better Web3 research now. Start by posting to the research feed to collaborate with researchers around the world. We can’t wait to see what you discover.
